Our Story

Originally conceived as a retail brand, LATHER started in 1999 with a small collection of pure olive oil soaps and our first boutique in Pasadena, CA. Boasting a clean, colorful design, an essential oil Blending Bar, an in-store sampling sink and a friendly, warm approach to customer service, the store quickly became a local favorite.

By expanding our product line and challenging expectations of what it meant to be “natural”, LATHER developed a cult following among celebrities, the media and savvy customers searching for cleaner alternatives to traditional skin care. In 2004, the wife of a prominent hotel mogul approached us with an opportunity to share our products and vision with their hotel guests, and we jumped at the chance. Now tens of thousands of weary travelers around the globe get a wakeup call from refreshing, botanical-based LATHER amenities every morning.
